Mrs. Prices' Class

General Education

Welcome to Mrs. Price's Class

I am a school psychologist at Westview Elementary. This is my ninth year in the field, and I am excited to begin our work together. I have worked in the district for just about one school year (taking time off for maternity leave at the end of the year). Prior to this, I worked in Bastrop, Texas - a small rural community just outside of Austin, where my family and I lived for three years. I received a Masters in School Psychology from the University of North Texas, and went on to doctoral coursework at Texas Woman's University. As a School Psychologist, I have worked with a wide-range of students and children, from conducting early childhood evaluations to counseling high school students. I have always had a role within the elementary setting in all of my time in the profession. I have enjoyed many facets of helping that go beyond the general responsibilities of the school psychologist, such as designing peer mediation programs, after school yoga for students and staff, and after school social groups for middle-school aged students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Above all, I am a fierce advocate for children and their families.

Aside from psychology, my interests include music (in my previous life I studied Vocal Jazz and performed), painting, reading, hiking, creative tasks, spending time with my infant, four year-old and husband, and pursuing personal balance and wellbeing.

Virtual Learning

Faced with seemingly impossible tasks of parenting, working, and managing life at home, I completely understand stress and anxiety that may come with the start of this school year. I want you to know that you are not expected to do this alone. IT TAKES A VILLAGE - reach out to us. We are here to help. Be gentle with yourselves, as we will be gentle with ourselves as well. No one expects perfection during these ever changing times.
