It’s already an exciting start to the school year and we’ve got a lot going on in the library! The book fair is right around the corner and will be here during Parent Teacher Conferences. This is a great time to stop by and pick up books to support your student, their classroom and our library! The days and times are:

October 7th from 7:30am-3pm

October 8th from 7:30am-7:30pm

October 9th from 12:00pm-5:30pm

We are encouraging ALL families to try the eWallet digital payment feature from Scholastic which allows you to add money for your student to use. Any unused funds are returned directly to you. Get started now at www.scholastic.com/bf/westview26

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from mid-September to mid-October in the library. During this time, we recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the country's history, heritage and culture. Come check out a book from the library to learn more!

Students are being introduced to the Colorado Children’s Book Award (CCBA) titles. This is a state-wide award where students have the opportunity to read books at least 3 of the total books and vote on their favorite in February 2020. There are 10 nominated picture books and 10 nominated junior (chapter) books. Be sure to ask your student which is their favorite so far!

The Genius Lab is up and running in the library as well!  The Genius Lab is a designated space for students to be self directed learners.  Here they can create, design and build while learning problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration skills! We are continually adding items to the space to foster a diverse collection from engineering to building to coding.
