IN-Person Learning Model

Parent Information

Orientation Days -

Students enrolled in the In-Person Learning Model will attend on the designated days below.

September 28th - Monday (8:05-3:00) - 3rd and 5th Graders

September 29th - Tuesday (8:05-3:00) - 2nd and 4th Graders

September 30th - Wednesday (8:05-1:45) - Kinder, 1st Graders and SLS students

  • All Students will attend 1 day of orientation prior to Thursday, October 1st.

  • Two Grades will attend each day (see grade levels and their assigned day above)

  • Orientation days will be full days. 

    • (8:05 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 8:05 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday)

  • Breakfast and Lunch will be served.

  • Students will attend Specials classes on their orientation day (PE, Music or Art).

  • Students will spend time with their In-Person teacher, become familiar with their classroom environment, and begin building relationships with their classmates.

  • Students will learn and practice classroom and school SAFETY routines.

  • English Language Learner and Special Education staff will meet with their students.

  • Parents will be able to practice drop-off and pick-up routines.

  • Students are asked to bring their School Supplies with them to Orientation Day.

  • On the In-Person Orientation Day - Attendance will be taken.

Drop-Off -

  • Outdoor Supervision will start at 7:50 a.m. - students are asked to not be on school grounds until that time.

  • Parents (2nd-5th)  are asked to use the Hug and Go Lane to drop off their student(s).

  • Parents (Kinder-1st) that are walking students to school are encouraged to say their goodbyes on the sidewalk and have their student(s) walk to their grade level entry door by themselves.

  • There will be 5 Entry Doors.  Each grade level will use a specific door to enter.

  • Students will be allowed to enter the building at 8:00 a.m. if they are NOT eating breakfast.

  • Students getting school breakfast need to enter the building through the cafeteria doors.

  • Students are asked to perform a temperature check at home prior to coming to school.

  • Temperature Checks will also be done on ALL students after they enter the building.

  • Students need to stand 3 feet apart while waiting to enter the building.

  • Students must wear a mask when on school grounds and when waiting to enter the building.

  • Grade Level Entry Doors will be sent to families later this week.

Hug and Go Lane -

  • All families are encouraged to use the Hug and Go Lane for drop-off from 7:50 a.m. until 8:05 a.m.

  • We will use the INNER Hug and Go lane for drop-off.

  • Adults are asked to stay in the car when using the Hug and Go Lane.

  • Pull up as far as you can in the lane before letting your student(s) out of the car.

  • Use the inner lane and DO NOT PASS other cars.

  • Do not use cell phones when on school grounds.

  • Have students get out of the car on the RIGHT side.

  • Students should have their masks on, and materials ready before families stop at their Hug and Go spot for student drop off.

Pick-Up -

  • All Adults are required to wear a mask when on school grounds.

  • Adults are asked to not congregate when waiting for their student(s).

  • Students will be dismissed out the designated doors that they enter through in the morning.

  • Adults are asked to leave the school grounds once they have gathered their student(s).

  • Adults are asked to designate a “meeting spot” with their student(s).

  • All students must be picked up by 3:10 p.m..

  • Pets are not allowed on School property.

Breakfast - 

  • Breakfast will be offered from 7:50-8:05 a.m. every morning.

  • If a student wants a school breakfast, they must enter through the cafeteria doors.

  • Students will take their breakfast to their classroom to eat.

Device Guidelines and Responsibility - 

  • All students (Grades K-5) are required to have a device (and accessories) readily available for school and home daily. 

    • personal device if they have one.

    •  a district-loaned device. 

  • Students (Grades K-5) are responsible for bringing devices (and accessories) to school and home daily (including weekends, holidays, and breaks).

    • Accessories include:

      • Charger

      • Headset with built-in microphone

    • Students must carry Chromebook and all accessories in their backpack throughout the school day and to/from school.

  • Students are expected to come to school with a fully charged device.

School Supplies

  • Students will not be sharing supplies with other students.

  • Students are asked to purchase the supplies listed on the grade level supply list.  (Supply lists are posted on the Westview Website under the Family Resources Tab - Supply List.)

  • Teachers will notify families which supplies the students should bring to school.

October 1st and October 2nd

  • We will be having Picture Day for our In-Person Learning Model students on October 1st.

  • Students will enter through the designated Entry Door at 8:00 a.m. to 8:05 a.m.

  • Students that arrive after 8:05 a.m. will need to enter through the front doors.

  • Students will have their backpack with them (filled with chromebook and supplies).

  • All grade levels will attend a full day.

  • Students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

  • Lunch and breakfast will be served.  

  • Transportation will be offered for designated students.
