District hosts Equity and Engagement event for families
- Collaborate
- Engage
The Equity and Engagement Department hosted the District Equity and Engagement Committee meeting at the end of August. To ensure there was equity of voice and accurate representation of the students we serve, PEAK staff, Family Outreach Liaisons, and Student Family Outreach Program (SFOP) staff coordinated efforts to personally invite families of color and multilingual families. The community gathered together to engage in "Appreciative Inquiry" around Adams 12's Theory of Action and how they think that could look for their children. Veronica Martinez, from the equity and engagement team, drove a small bus to pick up families from south end schools to ensure equitable access to this important discussion and interpretation services were utilized! We are excited to host another meeting in October!
