Hello Westview Community,
I am thankful to have the opportunity to work with the students at Westview Elementary. I have been in education since 1979 and have had several different roles and positions over the years. I began my teaching career at the high school level in the Houston, Texas where I taught Physical Education and Health for three years. I moved to the Denver area in 1982 and taught 8th grade science and Physical Education for four years with the Aurora Public Schools. I decided that I wanted to have my own house painting business so for the next six years I ran my own business, but during that time I realized how much I missed working with children and returned to the education field. I then taught elementary Physical Education for six years with the Denver Public Schools. In 1997 I returned to school to get my principal license and became an administrator for two years in DPS and I then moved to the Adams 12 school district in 2000 where I was an assistant principal for 12 years. I took three years off to be with my two beautiful daughters. Because of my love of teaching, I knew I needed to get back into the profession once again. I thoroughly enjoy teaching physical education and I have been at Westview since 2015. When I am not at school I find joy in serving my community in various ways by volunteering and working closely with our youth ministry at my church. It is a privilege and honor to serve your children at Westview, thank you for the opportunity.
