Always Do Your Best is my classroom motto for my students, their families and myself. To achieve this goal, I utilize my college degrees, professional affiliations and 20 plus years of experience every day to do my best in educating our society’s future leaders: your child.
In 2007, I joined the Westview Wildcat family as a second grade teacher and have been a proud Wildcat since then. When I am not at school, I find joy in celebrating special occasions with my family seeing colorful decorations and sharing delicious themed food. I love cooking with my daughter Emily and niece Andrea. I also really love Snoopy, Chocolate, Pajamas and Photography.
I believe in a successful academic and social learning experience. I assign daily homework and weekly spelling tests. I maintain a caring, structured and safe learning environment. There is no shame, fear or humiliation for anyone in my classroom. My classroom is always open to volunteers and throughout the year we have a lot of food, fun and fantastic learning.
I try to keep an open line of communication and I am willing to listen to suggestions for either my students or their family. I truly believe in respect, responsibility, and personal rights.
I am a true believer of family. You will often hear about my husband Mark, my daughter Emily and other members of my family such as; my sister Hope, nephews, nieces or great nieces. I have one great niece who has autism. I completely understand all families have challenges. When you are in my classroom we become a classroom family and together we are going to have a wonderful year of learning and laughter.
